As Grandpa Walter played rag time Joplin pieces his finger nails rattled on the piano keys and gave us a little bonus percussion!!!! Here you can listen to an early piano roll recorded by Joplin himself. I suspect Joplin kept his finger nails short.

My brother perfected his throwing technique on me before going to parties and throwing his girl friend around. Elvis was our favourite although we also liked Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard
