That Poem - God's Garden

I never knew more than 4 lines of this poem before so I was delighted to discover it has several verses. 

THE Lord God planted a garden
In the first white days of the world,
And He set there an angel warden
In a garment of light enfurled

 So near to the peace of Heaven,
That the hawk might nest with the wren,
For there in the cool of the even
God walked with the first of men. 

And I dream that these garden-closes
With their shade and their sun-flecked sod
And their lilies and bowers of roses,
Were laid by the hand of God. 

The kiss of the sun for pardon,

The song of the birds for mirth,--

One is nearer God's heart in a garden

Than anywhere else on earth.

For He broke it for us in a garden

Under the olive-trees

Where the angel of strength was the warden

And the soul of the world found ease.

cooking lessons

Kyla is 19 months old now so time for cooking lessons.  She does chocolate cake pretty well but it is more lickin' than cookin'!!!

And of course we even have to lick outside the bowl,  there are always a few bits there not to be missed!!  Actually we were making chocolate and coconut refrigerator truffles.  Helathy and yummy.  Maybe I should post the recipe?  These are a very easy thing to make with your kids.

Here is the recipe for the choc coconut truffles.. we added some dried fruit.

Ingredients

• 1/4 cup cocoa.
• 1/2 cup .honey
• 1/2 cup.peanut butter
• 3/4 cup non fat powdered milk
• 1 teaspoon .vanilla essence
• 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
• 1/4 cup unprocessed natural bran
• coconut, for rolling

Directions

1. 
   
   Mix cocoa, honey, peanut butter, powdered milk and vanilla in a bowl until combined. Add sunflower seeds and bran.
2. 
   
   Form into balls and roll in coconut.
3. 
   
   Allow to set and store in an airtight container.

Introducing Vanessa, Yasha and Kyla. Three very special little girls. Living over 6 hour drive away I don't get to see them enough. Meantime Skype fills in the gaps without the touch factor. I am getting excited about having a whole months visit soon. Leaving my little "furkids" behind to go visit the grandies
