Needle Felting

Recently discovered Needle Felting, now working on some ideas. Made these flowers for a possible brooch, and the little yellow balls are probably going to end up as wattle flower brooches.

Mary

This is Mum when she was 4 years old. I promised some old pics. Just putting her here now as it is her 94th birthday today. The second picture is of her with her brother Edward, and the last one taken on her 90th birthday holding the same teddy bear.

OLD PHOTOS

Happy English summer holidays!!. Location Ilfracombe, Devonshire, circa  1929. My mother Mary is the camera conscious teenager on the left, her mother next to her. Fancy a teenager having to share her holiday with this jolly company. And the beach fashions...well!!!!!!

Datura

I don't even know if I got the name right but folk do call it Datura. (nick-name Angel's Trumpets) Just shove a whole branch in and it starts growing even if you forget about it. This one is apricot but they come in white and pink , single and double. I am waiting for a cutting of the double white. Apparently it is very poisonous and if a cow eats it the poor creature will probably die. Well there is no room for cows in my garden and the dogs aren't interested. And of course I forgot to mention the breathtaking fragrance. Because I have all but lost my sense of smell I can only manage to get a whiff of it. ( lacking the sense of smell is a bit of a blessing at the moment as it has been very wet and the fur kids are a bit on the nose)
Do you like my little garden path? things grow quickly around here. this garden didn't exist 2 years ago and it now looks as though it has been there forever.

I need lessons in making this blog look good.....well anyway I thought a few more roses wouldn't go astray. I should be in the garden looking after them but they are getting a long drink from the Almighty.
all theses roses are available as cards or prints at RedBubble or you could contact me direct.

JUST JOINED RED BUBBLE

Today I joined Redbubble as I was looking at getting some T Shirts made up for my "buddies" in the "Coffee Shop" at Scrabulous.com I joined a lot of groups and spent the morning looking at other people's fantastic work.
It was encouraging to get feedback for the pictures I posted which is better than what is happening here!!!
Buy my art
wow that's a long one!!! hope it is worth it.

Just came across this and thought you would like it. Visited karenswhimsy.com/ - and enjoyed looking at her altered books. She has a huge catalogue of old images all free. Very generous of her to share what must have taken ages to compile. Why not take a look and be inspired. Set me to thinking that I have some good old images of my Mum and her brother taken in 1917

And this is the flower of a succulent. It has the consistency of that sponge sheeting people use for craft projects. Quite amazing it reminds me of a starfish.
